Liberate to William de Munrevel 10 l. of the king's gift.

 

1242, Jan. 15.

Liberate to William de Munrevel 25 l. for Easter term in this Westminster. year of his yearly fee of 25 l. (see Calendar of Patent Rolls, 1232 -1247, p. 270), and 40 marks of the king's gift.

 

1244, Feb. 8.

Liberate to William de Munrevel 25 l. for Easter term in the 27th year of his yearly fee of 25 l., and 12 marks for the loss of his horses in the king's service beyond sea.

 

1244, April 11.

Liberate to Audebert le Provost of Brigerak, to whom the king of late gave arms, 201. of the king's gift for his expenses homewards.

Liberate to William de Monte Rovelli 121 l. (corrected from Monte Raven' 61 marks) for this Easter term of his yearly fee of 25 l. (corrected from marks).

 

1244, May 6.

Liberate to Ernald Hug[onis] to the use of Ellis Ridel of Brigerak the elder 13 marks 7s. which he delivered to the king's knights at Pessaz, and which the king is bound to repay by his letters patent (Calendar of Patent Rolls, 1232-1247, p. 411) which are to be received from Ernald.

Liberate to Ellis de Chillac 4 marks of the king's gift for his Windsor. expenses homewards.

Liberate to John, messenger of Agnes de Chillac and Ellis her son, 10 l. to their use of the yearly fee granted to them for the loss of their lands in Peregoz and Saintonge.

 

1244, Dec. 2.

Liberate to Ar', messenger of the vicomte of Castillon (Castellion'), to the latter's use, 50 marks of the 50 l. due for the castle of Gurzun, which he surrendered to the king, and of 18 l. 13 s. 4 d. due for wages while he was in the king's service in Gascony 1 l. and 40 s. for Ar' himself for his expenses homewards.

 

1245, May 20.

Liberate to William de Monte Rovelli without delay 25 l. for Woodstock. this Easter term of his yearly fee of 25 l. Half his fee for last year is still due.

 

1245, June 13.

Liberate to William de Monte Rovelli 10 l. 12 s. for last year's arrears of his fee of 25 l.

Liberate to Ellis Galfridi 10 l. to the use of Agnes (corrected from Evesham. Ellis) de Chillak and Ellis her son for Michaelmas term in the 29th year, the king having granted them that sum yearly for the loss of their lands in Saintonge and Perigord.

Liberate to Audebert, messenger of Ellis Ridel of Brigerak, 100 marks to the latter's use for arrears of his wages while in the king's service in the last war against the king of Navarre.

Liberate to Peter, messenger of William de Monte Rovelly, 12 l. 10 s. for this Easter term of his yearly fee of 25 l.

Liberate to Agnes late the wife of B. de Chillak and her son 100 s., and to John de Sunnevill and his brothers 16 l. 10 s., all arrears of their respective fees, to William de Monte Rovelly 12 l. 10 s., to William Endradi 30 marks arrears of his fee, and to Oliver de Chaleis the younger 30 marks of the king's gift.

Liberate to Rustan Ruffardi 25 l. for William de Monte Rovelly for this Easter term of his yearly fee of 25 l.

Liberate to William de Munrevell 60 marks of the king's gift, and 40 marks in recompense of the damage he sustained for the loss of his land in Gascony.

 

1249, April 19.

Liberate to William de Monte Revelly 12 l. 10 s. for the same term, and 12 l. 10s. for Easter term following, of his yearly fee of 25 l., and 121 marks in recompense for lands lost in the king's service.

 

1249, July 4.

Liberate to Sibilla late the wife of Bernard de Bovill and her children 50 l. arrears of their yearly fee of 22 l. payable at the Easter Exchequer for the loss of his castle of Lymeyll.

Liberate to Audebert, provost of Bregelak, 10 marks of the king's gift for his expenses.

 

1249, Nov. 12.

Liberate to William de Monte Revelli 12 l. 10 s. for Michaelmas term in the 33rd year of his yearly fee of 25 l.; and 160 marks, 80 at next Easter Exchequer and the other 80 at that of Michaelmas, for a debt of Fulk de Castro Novo to him of like amount.

 

1249, Nov. 15.

Liberate to William de Monte Revelli 15 marks, that is, 100 s. at the coming Exchequer and 100 s. at that of Easter following, for his losses sustained in the war in Gascony.

Liberate to William de Monte Revelli 5 marks for a palfrey of the king's gift.

Liberate to William de Monte Revelli 40 marks in payment of Woodstock. his yearly fee for Easter term last past, and in part payment of what the king owes him on behalf of Fulk de Castro Novo, and of his losses sustained in the king's war in Gascony. William de Monte Revelli has 60 marks from the wardrobe on his fee, and had 60 marks before in the 37th year.

Contrabreve to pay 251. to William de Monte Revelli at Michaelmas next as arrears of his yearly fee of 25 l., for which he had a writ of liberate before. Cancelled quia aliter inferius.

Liberate to Gaylard de Byron 25 l. 20 d. sterling arrears of his Westminster. wages while on the king's service in garrison of the castle of Muncuk in Gascony with four mounted serjeants and 20 footserjeants down to the Sunday after the Nativity of St. Mary in the 38th year as reckoned by Richard le Rus (Ruffum), king's clerk, receiving from Gaylard the king's letters patent therefor (not on Patent or Gascon Roll).

Allocate 5 marks to William de Muntrevel, knight, of the king's gift.

Liberate without delay to Bernard de Bruggelak 21 l. 10 s. sterling Westminster. due to him for 15 tuns of wine lately taken from him by Thomas Esperun and Matthew Bukerel, the king's chamberlains of London.

 

1257, July 20.

Allocate to James le Gaunter, bailiff of Windesores, in his farm of the town of Windesores, 20 l. 8 s. 6 d. expenses of Nicholas de Segrave, Hugh de Nede, and William de Monte Revelli, king's yeomen, lately lying ill at Windesores, of their grooms and horses, and of Master Eustace the king's physician dwelling with them there, and for spices and electuaries and other things needful for them from 2 March to 3 May in this year, as reckoned by Simon Passelewe, king's clerk.

 

1257, Nov. 7.

Liberate to William de Munrevell 30 marks of the king's gift for his maintenance, of the old [marks] of the Exchequer of the king's Jewry.

 

1258, Feb. 18.

Liberate to Bertram de Bovill and his brothers, sons of Bernard de Bovill, 200 marks arrears of the 22 l. once granted yearly to Sibilla late the wife of the said Bernard at the Easter Exchequer for the loss of her castle of Lymol', the king's letters patent testifying the grant to be received at the Exchequer.

 

1258, Nov. 7.

Liberate to William de Monte Revelli and his nephew 20 marks, all for their maintenance.

 

1259, May 24.

Liberate to William de Monte Revelli and William Arn' his nephew 10 marks for their expenses as they were all disinherited on account of their service to the king.

 

1259, Aug. 4.

Liberate to William de Muntrevel 25 marks, and to William Arnaldi de Cadilac 15 marks, of the king's gift to maintain themselves in his service while going to the parts of France.

Liberate without delay to Robert de la Bare, serjeant-at-arms, Waltham. for himself and Walter de Amundisham, clerk of Chancery, whom the king is sending to Edward his son in France for the affair of Bergerac and Gensac, 10 l. for their expenses, not delaying herein lest by such delay and the shortness of the time the king should incur damage or peril.

 

1261, Aug. 10.

Liberate to Bozo de Burdel at the Michaelmas Exchequer 15 marks for Easter term next, on the yearly fee of 30 marks which he receives to maintain himself in the king's service for the said Easter term.

 

1262, Jan. 22.

Liberate to Walter le Cornwaleis 36 l. for 20 tuns of purchased Westminster. wine, to Henry le Waleis 150 l. for 75 tuns, and to Arnold de Brigerac 20 s. for 1 tun of prise-wine, bought by Peter de Gisorciis the king's chamberlain of London against last Christmas, as testified by Imbert Pugeis the king's steward, receiving from them the king's letters patent testifying to the money.

 

1262, May 4.

Liberate to Bozo de Burdeile 15 marks for this Easter term of his Westminster. yearly fee of 30 marks.

 

1262, July 1.

Liberate to Imbert de Muntferrant 25 marks to buy himself a Westminster. horse of the king's gift. Allocate to Walter de Burges and Adam son of Payn, guardians of the see of Winchester, in the issues thereof, 66 l. 13 s. 4 d. delivered in the wardrobe at Westminster to master Henry de Gandavo, keeper thereof, on Saturday after St. Peter and St. Paul, and 21 marks delivered to Bernard de Burdeil to make up 10 marks which the king gave him to buy himself a horse.

 

1266, Feb. 25.

To the keepers of the city of London. Contrabreve to let John Westminster. de la Lynde have 15 marks due for expenses in the Parliament of  the quinzaine of the Purification, at Paris, for the affair of Bergerac (facto Brig') in the 48th year.

Lib. to Reynold de Suffolk, chamberlain of London, for a tun of wine of the king's prise which he delivered to Richard... ting for a tun of wine lately taken from him at Kingeston by William de Leuekenor, the king's butler, as testified by John de la Linde, the king's steward.

 

1268, Feb. 9

To the bailiffs of London. Con. to let Luke de Batencurt, citizen of London, have 5m. for a tun of wine delivered to the king's clerk [John Wale]raund, then constable of the Tower of London, for a present (exennium) to the duke of Brunneswik' on the king's behalf, as testified by John de la Linde, his steward.

 

1268, Nov. 3. Westminster.

Lib. to the king's yeoman Austin Oger 70 m. for wines taken from him and his father during the disturbance in the realm by John de la Linde, the king's steward. (Paid: in a tally made to Thomas de Sancto (?) Vigore).

 

1268, Nov. 5. Westminster.

Lib. to Stephen de Eddeworth, chamberlain of London, 20 l. for 20 tuns of wine of the king's prise taken from divers merchants, as testified by John de la Linde, his steward, provided that Stephen acquits the king against the merchants.

 

1269, April. 3. Westminster

Lib. to Raymond, vicomte of Turenne, 64 m. 10 s. 4 d. for all arrears of the fee which Guy de Turenne his brother used to receive at the king's will from the commune of the land of Périgord and the issues of the lands of Limousin, which fee has now come to the king's hand by the death of Guy, quit for ever; also 40 m. for his expenses while dwelling in the king's realm for 10 weeks to despatch the king's business there.

 

1269, May 20. Windsor.

Lib. to master William de la Cornere and John de la Lynde 60 m. each for their expenses in going on the king's errand beyond seas, to be paid without delay wherever it can be borrowed from merchants or otherwise obtained, as may seem most expedient.
